WoW Forever โ Warlock Plan
Overview Setup
Gnome Warlock on the Alliance Normal (PvE) ruleset. Tailoring uses the cloth you loot anyway, and Enchanting turns every unwanted green into materials.
| Launch | November 4, 2026, 3:00 PM PST |
| Name reservation | October 27 โ November 3 |
| Raids open | December 9 (Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit, Onyxia's Lair) |
| Ruleset | Normal (PvE): world PvP only when both players opt in. Make your characters on Normal to group with Chad. |
| Race / class | Gnome Warlock |
| Spec | Affliction or Demonology for leveling |
| Primary professions | Tailoring, Enchanting |
| Secondary professions | Cooking, First Aid; skip Fishing |
Forever facts that shape this plan
- Level cap stays 60 permanently; no flying, no level scaling.
- No WoW Token and no paid boost.
- Legacy system: points earned account-wide, each character spends up to 16 at launch.
- Healing Potions moved from Alchemy to First Aid, so you can make your own.
- Crafted food grants stats plus a small XP bonus.
- Forever keeps paying people to level alts, so bags should keep selling.
- Realmless: you pick a ruleset, not a server. Grouping only within your ruleset.
- Bank is about 96 slots; a fifth bag slot takes a reagent bag (may hold cloth and enchanting materials).
Pre-launch to-dos Checklist
Addons, keybinds and knowing the first few Tailoring and Enchanting recipes.
Character: Gnome Warlock Build
Put damage-over-time spells on the target, let the Voidwalker hold it, finish with a wand. Spell levels below are Classic's and approximate; check them against the trainer and Naowh Forever's training planner.
Talents
Affliction (stronger damage-over-time spells, cheaper Life Tap) or Demonology (stronger demon, more health). Either levels well.
Training plan (Classic levels, approximate)
Always buy every rank of Corruption, Curse of Agony, Immolate, Shadow Bolt, Life Tap and Drain Life. Skip utility you won't use while leveling.
| Levels | Buy | Skip or delay |
|---|---|---|
| 1โ10 | Shadow Bolt, Immolate, Demon Skin, Corruption, Curse of Weakness, Life Tap, Curse of Agony, Fear; Voidwalker quest at 10 | โ |
| 10โ20 | Drain Soul, Create Healthstone, Health Funnel, Drain Life, Unending Breath, Create Soulstone; Succubus quest at 20 | Curse of Recklessness, Detect Invisibility |
| 20โ30 | Demon Armor, Rain of Fire, Searing Pain, Sense Demons, Drain Mana, Banish; Felhunter quest at 30 | Eye of Kilrogg, Ritual of Summoning until grouping |
| 30โ40 | Siphon Life (talent), Howl of Terror, Curse of Tongues, Shadow Ward; summoned mount at 40 (class quest) | Enslave Demon |
| 40โ60 | Death Coil, Hellfire, Curse of Shadow, Soul Fire, Dreadsteed quest at 60, new core ranks | Inferno (60) unless needed |
Keybinds (14 keys)
Pull macro (demon attacks with your first spell)
#showtooltip Corruption /petattack /cast Corruption
Rotations
- 1โ10: Immolate, Corruption, then Shadow Bolt; Imp attacks.
- 10โ20: Voidwalker in โ Curse of Agony โ Corruption โ Immolate โ wand to finish. Life Tap for mana, then eat or bandage.
- 20โ30: same; Drain Soul the last few health to collect a shard when you need one; Fear a second mob away from other packs.
- 30โ40: tag a second mob with damage-over-time spells while the Voidwalker holds the first; Drain Life to heal yourself.
- 40โ60: keep damage-over-time spells on two or three mobs; Death Coil if one reaches you.
PvP (battlegrounds or when you flag)
- Fear (Q) the attacker; Howl of Terror (F) for several.
- Death Coil (F) for an instant fear plus a heal.
- Escape Artist (X) to break a snare or root.
- Voidwalker Sacrifice for a damage shield.
- Run, then reapply damage-over-time spells from range. Healthstone (G) when low.
Demons & soul shards Class mechanics
Classic's demon lineup; Forever may change it.
| Demon | Use | When |
|---|---|---|
| Imp | Ranged damage, Blood Pact (health buff) | Levels 1โ10; groups |
| Voidwalker | Tank: holds mobs while your spells kill | Main leveling demon from 10 |
| Succubus | Damage and Seduce (crowd control) | Fast kills on easy mobs |
| Felhunter | Spell Lock and Devour Magic | PvP against casters |
- Soul shards: cast Drain Soul as a mob dies to get one. Summoning a demon (except the Imp), Healthstones and Soulstones use them.
- Keep about 5โ10 shards; more just wastes bag space.
- Make a Healthstone and Soulstone after each death or long break.
Leveling route Zones
Normal (PvE) ruleset: world PvP only happens when both players opt in, so take the fastest zones, not the safest. Zone ranges are Classic-based; Forever's new quests may shift them, so follow RestedXP or Journey where they differ.
| Levels | Zones | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1โ12 | Dun Morogh | Grund and Gozwin quest gives a 6-slot bag (level 3โ4). |
| 12โ20 | Loch Modan, Westfall, Darkshore | Level 14: Cozy Sleeping Bag chain in Westfall. Dungeons once each: Gnomeregan quests, Deadmines, Hall of Thanes. |
| 20โ30 | Redridge, Duskwood, Wetlands, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad | Normal ruleset: Ashenvale and Hillsbrad are open to you now. Follow your guide addon's route. |
| 30โ40 | Stranglethorn, Arathi, Desolace, Dustwallow, Thousand Needles, Riverglades (from mid-30s) | Riverglades: Forever's big new zone, nearly 200 quests, Alliance start at Farhold Keep. Krol'dok Stronghold outdoor dungeon 40โ45. |
| 40โ50 | Riverglades, Tanaris, Feralas, Hinterlands, Badlands, Searing Gorge, Swamp of Sorrows | Mount at 40. |
| 50โ60 | Un'Goro, Felwood, Winterspring, Western/Eastern Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, then Hyjal | Hyjal via Darkwhisper Gorge in southern Winterspring. |
Leveling habits
- Run each dungeon once, with its quests; Forever cut dungeon mob XP and raised dungeon quest XP.
- Eat crafted food for the XP bonus; log out in inns for rested XP; use campfires and the Cozy Sleeping Bag.
- Launch week is crowded: group up for kill quests instead of competing for the same mobs.
- Humanoids drop the cloth Tailoring uses; quest zones full of them double as cloth farms.
- Don't Fear mobs near other packs; feared enemies run into new pulls.
Priorities for levels 1โ40 Order of operations
XP comes first; cloth and disenchanting ride along.
- Leveling pace: quest-led; each dungeon once for its quests; food XP buffs, rested XP, campfires, Cozy Sleeping Bag.
- Demon quests: Voidwalker (10), Succubus (20), Felhunter (30), mount (40).
- Wand: your most important early upgrade. Make one with Enchanting (in Classic) or buy one.
- Flight paths: grab every Alliance flight path you pass.
- Tailoring: keep it at your cloth level; make your own gear and bags.
- Enchanting: disenchant every green you won't wear.
- First Aid: level with linen and wool; Life Tap makes bandages extra valuable.
- Gold: riding training fund (see Gold priorities).
- Gnomeregan reputation: incidental from quests.
Levels 40โ60 plan Midโlate game
Quest through the Riverglades tail, the Classic 45โ60 zones and Hyjal.
- Zones: Riverglades to mid-40s, Krol'dok Stronghold (40โ45), Feralas, Hinterlands, Azshara, Un'Goro, Felwood, Winterspring, Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Hyjal.
- Dungeons: once each for quests; Forever cuts dungeon mob XP and raises dungeon quest XP.
- Professions: mageweave then runecloth bags; keep Enchanting up through disenchanting.
- Gold: start the epic mount fund (smaller if the Dreadsteed quest exists).
At level 60 End game
Gear and the Dreadsteed first, then bags and enchants as steady income.
| Phase | Focus | Why |
|---|---|---|
| First 1โ2 weeks | Hyjal quests and reputations; one clear of each high-level dungeon; pre-raid gear | In Classic, max-level quests pay gold instead of XP (verify in Forever) |
| Weeks 2โ6 | Runecloth bags, enchants for raiders, sell dust and essences | Steady demand from every leveler and raider |
| When ready | Dreadsteed quest chain (if Forever keeps it) | Epic mount without buying one |
- Tailoring or Enchanting to 300: earns an account-wide certification title.
- Enchanting as a service: enchants are cast on the buyer's gear, so advertise in trade chat or the city.
Professions and sell/craft/hold timeline Economy
Sell surplus cloth during the launch spike, keep Tailoring at your level with your own cloth, and disenchant everything.
| Levels | Do | Sell | Keep or hold |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1โ20 | Tailor with linen and wool; make your own gear and bags. Disenchant greens. Make an early wand (in Classic). | Surplus linen and wool during launch week; bags | Cloth for First Aid |
| 20โ40 | Keep Tailoring at your level. Disenchant everything. | Bags, dust and essences | Materials for your own enchants |
| 40โ60 | Mageweave then runecloth bags and gear. | Bags, enchanting materials | Runecloth (bags sell steadily) |
| 60 | Enchants for raiders; higher-end bags. | Enchants (cast on request), bags | Rare enchanting materials |
Price pattern (Classic launches, moderate confidence)
- Days 1 to about 10: cloth expensive while tailors and First Aid levelers race โ sell surplus.
- Weeks 2โ4: cloth crashes โ buy cheap cloth for Tailoring skill-ups.
- Bags sell steadily the whole time; new characters keep needing them.
Secondary professions
- Cooking: yes, for the food XP bonus.
- First Aid: yes. Life Tap trades health for mana; bandages and Healing Potions put it back.
- Fishing: skip unless you enjoy it.
Gold priorities Spending order
Core spells, bags (made yourself), profession training, riding training, then everything else.
- Core spell ranks every trainer visit; skip situational spells.
- Bags: make them yourself; free quest bags first.
- Profession training as needed.
- Riding fund from level 30.
Level 40 riding fund (cost not announced; Classic riding plus a mount was about 90g; Warlocks skipped the mount cost)
| Level | Fund target |
|---|---|
| 30 | 20% of cost |
| 35 | 50% |
| 40 | 100% |
Epic riding (after 60; Classic training was about 900g)
Buy when gold โฅ riding cost + 4 ร weekly raid supply spend + repair buffer
Bags & shards Storage
Soul shards eat bag space. As a tailor, you fix this yourself.
| Order | Level | Bag | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3โ4 | 6-slot | Grund and Gozwin quest, Dun Morogh |
| 2 | Early | Linen bags | Tailoring |
| 3 | ASAP | Reagent bag (fifth slot) | Test whether it holds cloth and enchanting materials |
| 4 | 14 | 12-slot bag | Cozy Sleeping Bag chain, Westfall |
| 5 | Mid-levels | Soul shard bag | Tailoring in Classic; check Forever |
| 6 | 20+ | Wool, silk, mageweave, runecloth bags | Tailoring |
- Bank about 96 slots: hold cloth through price crashes.
- Make extra bags for your group; sell the rest.
Gold-making Economy
Bags for levelers, enchanting materials for everyone, enchants for raiders.
| Phase | Timing | Play |
|---|---|---|
| Raw materials | Launch to week 2 | Sell surplus linen and wool at peak prices; disenchant greens and sell dust. |
| Crafting | Weeks 3โ8 | Buy cheap cloth; make and sell bags. |
| Raid supply | From December 9 | Enchants for raiders; high-end enchanting materials. |
Simple pricing rules
- Baseline: watch an item for a few days; note its usual low. Launch-week prices are not normal.
- Buy: only below the usual low, and only if your product still profits after the 5% auction cut.
- Sell: list near the usual price; if the market is far below your cost, hold.
- Speed beats margin: a 15% profit that sells today beats a 50% profit that takes ten days.
- Bags: price by slots; compare to what else is listed at each size.
Playing together Group
The Warlock pairs well with an Herbalist/Alchemist Hunter and a Skinner/Leatherworker Shaman.
| From | To | What |
|---|---|---|
| Warlock (Tailoring) | Everyone | Bags |
| Warlock (Enchanting) | Everyone | Disenchanting greens; weapon and armor enchants |
| Warlock (class) | Everyone | Healthstones, Soulstones, summons |
| Hunter (Alchemy) | Warlock | Mana potions, elixirs, flasks |
| Everyone (Cooking) | Everyone | XP food |
- Duo with the Hunter: two pets tanking and two ranged damage dealers; Fear, Freezing Trap and Concussive Shot cover each other.
- Trio with the Shaman: the Shaman heals and adds totems; good for elite quests and dungeons.
- Everyone must be Alliance on the Normal ruleset to group.
