WoW Forever — Bank Alt Plan
Overview Why a bank alt
Forever launches without an account-wide bank; Blizzard has only said it's considering one "in the not-too-distant future" (Massively OP). The Dwarf Rogue is the account's bank, auction house seller and city crafter.
| Order | Character | Professions | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Night Elf Hunter | Herbalism + Mining → Engineering | Gathers; leveled first |
| 2 | Dwarf Shaman | Skinning + Leatherworking | Main |
| 3 | Dwarf Rogue | Tailoring + Enchanting; lockpicking | Bank, auctions, bags, disenchanting, lockboxes |
| 4 | Skyborne Druid | Herbalism + Alchemy | Potions and flasks |
The Dwarf Rogue Alt 3
Every one of its jobs happens in town, so it spends most of its time parked by the bank and leaves only to level.
- Bank: holds stock waiting to sell and holdings through price crashes.
- Auctions: posts, cancels and collects; runs GoldAdvisor scans.
- Tailoring: turns everyone's spare cloth into bags for the account and for sale.
- Enchanting: disenchants everyone's unwanted greens; enchants the account's gear.
- Lockpicking: opens lockboxes mailed by the other characters.
Dwarf racials (after Oct 26)
Stoneform, Artisan's Precision (+1% hit), Big Game Hunter (+5% vs beasts), Find Treasure. None matter much in town; Dwarf is the pick because it starts next to Ironforge. Find Treasure only works where you are, so it helps while the Rogue levels, not while it's parked.
Optional level 1 vault Alt 5
The Rogue leaves town to level. If you want an auction seller that is always ready, add a level 1 character with no professions.
- Any class; pick one you'll never want to level.
- Create it in Dun Morogh, walk to Ironforge, log out by the bank, auction house and mailbox.
- Extra storage: its own bags and about 96 bank slots.
- Skip it if the Rogue's own bank is enough; you can add it any time.
Where to park Ironforge
- Ironforge: the Dwarf Rogue starts in Dun Morogh, minutes from the city. In Classic, Ironforge was the main Alliance trade hub, with the bank, auction house and mailboxes close together.
- The market is probably the same in every capital. Forever uses the retail-style auction house, and retail shares one market per faction across all capitals. If Forever does the same, the city only changes how far you walk. (Moderate confidence; check at launch.)
- Your Shaman is also a Dwarf, so Ironforge is home for both.
Leveling the Rogue Slowly, in between
The Rogue's professions and lockpicking are capped by its level, so it needs real levels before it can do its whole job.
| Level | Unlocks (Classic levels; check in Forever) |
|---|---|
| 10 | Journeyman professions (skill to 150) |
| 20 | Expert professions (to 225): silk bags |
| 35 | Artisan professions (to 300): mageweave and runecloth bags; disenchant everything |
| Up to 60 | Lockpicking was capped at about 5 skill per level, so the best lockboxes need a high-level Rogue |
- Legacy points: the Hunter and Shaman earn them account-wide. Spend the Rogue's on Well Rested.
- Leveling: Combat or Assassination with daggers or swords; follow RestedXP or Journey. Stealth past anything you don't need to kill.
- Target: 35 first. That covers bags and disenchanting; push higher later for lockboxes.
Tailoring & Enchanting City crafting
Tailoring
- Cloth comes from everyone. The Hunter, Shaman and Druid keep enough for their own First Aid and mail the rest here.
- Bags keep selling in Forever, because the game keeps rewarding players for leveling new characters. Make the account's bags first, then sell the rest.
- Cloth prices: high in launch week, usually crash in weeks 2–4. Buy cheap cloth then to level Tailoring.
- The Rogue wears leather, so Tailoring armor is only for selling or for the Druid's off-pieces; bags are the point.
Enchanting
- Disenchant every green your characters won't wear. Dust and essences sell steadily.
- Skill-gated: higher-level greens need a higher Enchanting skill. Keep it caught up or greens pile up in the mailbox.
- Leveling: in Classic, disenchanting gave no skill-ups; you leveled by crafting enchants with your own dust. Check whether Forever changed this.
Lockpicking Rogue only
- Lockboxes: the other characters mail them here; they wait in the mailbox and the Rogue opens them when online.
- Skill: rises by opening locks; capped by level in Classic (about 5 per level).
- While leveling: pick locked chests and footlockers you find; Find Treasure helps spot them.
- Backups (in Classic): Blacksmithing Skeleton Keys and Engineering Seaforium Charges also opened boxes. The Hunter's Engineering may cover this later.
How items flow Workflow
- Each trip to town: every character mails cloth, greens, lockboxes and finished goods to the Rogue.
- Rogue: make bags, disenchant, open boxes; run the GoldAdvisor scan; post what the plan says.
- Gold: sales arrive at the Rogue; mail each character what it needs for training and mounts.
Setup checklist Checklist
Rules & safety Protect the stockpile
- The bank alt holds most of your wealth. Turn on Battle.net two-factor authentication before launch.
- Mail expires. In Classic, unopened mail with items lasted 30 days and cash-on-delivery mail 3 days. Empty mailboxes regularly.
- Trade-window scams target bank alts. Sell through the auction house or cash-on-delivery mail.
- Character slots: check how many characters Forever allows per ruleset before adding a vault.
